Fibostop 90cm
« on: November 29, 2007, 01:51:31 PM »
This is the latest addition to my range of dishes, and is a truly remarkable performer - pulling in satellites that I couldn't get anywhere near before it was installed. It's fitted with an Inverto White Tech C120 twin LNB and is brand new. These have been out of production for many years now.

It replaces a Triax TD88 and is mounted on an old Moteck SG2100 DiSEqC motor.

I have many more pictures of it, which I will post over time.

Like it , I am very jealous.
:righton:

What sats are you picking up, that you couldn't before?
I have a Triax TD110 dish, that goes where I tell it coupled to a TM1000D receiver, and a fixed dish that goes where the wind blows it.
Also got a TM6800HD.

I had a very quick play when I first threw it up, and could get both Thor 3 and Sirius 3 transponders that I've never been able to get - and with good steady signal strengths.

The Fibo has a stupid plastic insert behind the jaws which bite into the motor output shaft, and although I had tightened them up good and proper, I found the dish had slipped right round the shaft and hit the wall yesterday after some strong winds.

No damage done, but on inspection, the clamp bolts were really loose again as the plastic had been compressed. Flogged it up again and it looks like it might have got over it's initial compression/shrinkage problem - but I'll be checking it regularly from now on!

Not set up properly yet. Too much going on at the moment. Probably get it spot-on over the Christmas holidays now. Very pleased with it though. It's amazing.

Sorry wod, only just seen this.

Yes, everything else is the same.

I've just realised that I never uploaded my Fibostop pictures. I'll get to it once I work out which computer they're on!

Here are some screencaps from 7W from before Christmas using it.
