Richard Lindsay-Davies is to leave the Digital TV Group to take up the role of commercial development director with Freesat, the BBC-ITV joint venture, scheduled to launch next April. The two organisations have been working closely together with the DTG drawing up the technical specifications for the free-to-air satellite service.
Digital TV Group Chairman, Professor David Youlton praised Lindsay-Davies for the role he had played in the organisation’s policy formation. “I thank Richard for all his hard work over the last four years and wish him all the best in his new role at Freesat,” he said.
Lindsay-Davies joined the DTG in February 2004, initially as chief operating officer, before being promoted to director-general in March 2006.

Thus the metric system did not really catch on in the States, unless you count the increasing popularity of the nine-millimeter bullet ~
