Middle of the night is the best time based on several reports I've read. Well, maybe 2am or so...  :D

I think you might be surprised. It was an easy catch with my deaf Dreambox on the 110 - which is only actually 105... OK, so I'm a lot further south than you, but my 88 was superb. People thought I was making up some reports!

Just got a shiny new receiver, a TM6800HD.

The tuner is a touch more sensitve than my old TM1000 I believe, and I am currently getting some horizontals again, with no pixelation, but the picture just pauses occasionally.

Just these three so far.

11919H

12226H

12303H (just)

Looks like I have enough quality for 11996H too, but all channels are Showtime scrambled, so I can't check the picture.

Confirmed, the 6800 is more sensitive, just getting a mess on the TM1000.

I have a Triax TD110 dish, that goes where I tell it coupled to a TM1000D receiver, and a fixed dish that goes where the wind blows it.
Also got a TM6800HD.

That's fantastic. I'm really jealous!

Well done. Your setup must be spot on.

That's it - I'm going to try the freeze-spray on my Inverto twin... .

I hate missing out!!!

Maybe I'll have a quick try on the Foxsat first...

What made you go for the TM6800HD? Hmm, another thread maybe...

Yes, I was thinking the same thing, Freezer spray, or take the whole freezer outside. :D

The dish yes, is spot on for 7W, I use it as to align the motor, rather than 1W :D, its close enough.
Forget what the guides say! It has to be absolutely right, a fraction of a degree either way, and it is gone.

Quick answer, I went for the TM6800, as I like the ease of it, I program VxWorks at work, and I don't want hassle when I get home.

Nope. Not happening for me.

My azimuth is optimised to within 0.1 of a degree, but sod all horizontal action. My elevation might not be quite so perfect, but it's pretty damn close. It's too dark to try and tweak it now, and the neighbours are probably already peed off with me - what with the 500W floodlight being on and off more times than Dimitar Berbatov's transfer to Man United.

Guess my 90cm dreams are in pieces... Pretty ambitious, but I'm still disappointed  :(

One thing I did ascertain, and that was that the Skystar 2 was locking out where the Foxsat was pixelating slightly.

I'd love to have one more go with a really sensitive receiver. Can't really justify buying another one just to satisfy my obsession with 7w horizontals though  :nutter:  ::)

Or could I?

I have to correct one of my statements above  :-[

The Foxsat is looped through my Dreambox. For the above tests the Dreambox was powered down totally. With it powered up and in standby mode, the Foxsat does at least as well as the Skystar (but still no horizontals, though it's registering an 85% signal strength and 0% quality, whereas before the signal strength was 20% and quality was 0%).

I guess the Dreambox loopthrough doesn't function with no power to the box at all. It works out well though, as it doesn't power the LNB in standby, so the Foxsat functions correctly in terms of both LNB voltage switching and 22KHz tone switching.

Now got ALL horizontals and all verticals from both Nilesat 101 and Nilseat 102, also a few transponders from Atlantic Bird 4 at 7.2W.
The Nilsesat Tps are working with 3 inches of snow on the dish and snow pelting it down.

Signal provided by a 1.8m Precision prime focus with matched feedhorn and Inverto White Tech C120 single. ( Just a small dish I'm having a play with at the moment )
