BBC accepts National Audit Office advice on Digital UK switchover funding

The National Audit Office has recommended that the BBC puts additional measures in place to measure the value for money it is getting from its £200 million funding of switchover body Digital UK.
It is one of a number of findings of an independent review the BBC had commissioned from the National Audit Office (NAO). The BBC’s Preparedness for Digital Switchover looks at how the corporation plans to meet its obligations as set out under the Royal Charter and Agreement.
The BBC Executive has undertaken to improve its existing evaluation following the completion of switchover in the Copeland region and the Trust intends to monitor progress. Performance indicators will be added to the already weekly reports.
The BBC on providing a help scheme for the digital switchover process and viewer communications is spending a total of £800 million.
The NAO also recommended the BBC strengthen its oversight of switchover work by adding an independent representative on the project governance board.
The Trust has accepted the NAO findings.

Thus the metric system did not really catch on in the States, unless you count the increasing popularity of the nine-millimeter bullet ~
