At least it's game on for the boxing again!  >:(

The second lesson I ever learned in this hobby was never to **** around with your setup the same day as the footy/boxing!

yes as i had to jump out after the villa v united game and clip the motor cable to the wall in the dark

one thing i noticed was the thickness of the 4 core cable i bought from sat superstore the motor wires are really thin for the sensor wires and thicker for the motor power ?

also going to see if can buy on the bay or somewhere an old receiver manhattan st550 or something to move the dish as this vbox seems sh!te cant complain was only 29 euro

I have heard the Topfield 5000 CIP is fairly good for 36v.

Haven't used the Vbox either. What they like to set up from start.

That makes sense wod. The motor power lines are carrying the most current, hence thicker cables needed.

The sensor wires are presumably carrying hardly any current at all, so thin wires can be used.
I have a Triax TD110 dish, that goes where I tell it coupled to a TM1000D receiver, and a fixed dish that goes where the wind blows it.
Also got a TM6800HD.

Yeah, the motor will draw way more current.

The Echostar analogue/digital boxes go for very little and have a good built-in positioner.

Like this one.

another update and after sorting out an e-2 error on the vbox.

i connected it to my receiver vantage x221tsci, as this has under the motor setting an option called positioner.

this is similar to diseqc 1.2 and you store the satellites on the receiver/vbox and they come up labelled as p01 etc on the vbox

i have from 1west going east stored in 5e,7e,10e,13e,16e,19e, not tried west as the wind is a bit strong.

i just love this setup now, as i had some much hassle with my diseqc motor setup i had before

Cool...

It sounds like you're just using the DiSEqC commands 'GOTO Pos n' as opposed to the 'GOTO x.x' we all know and love.

 :righton:

Glad you're happy with it. It's a quality setup

smart titanium lnb i have on there, i was using that on my triax as it seemed the best one at the time.

i do have the andrews ku band feedhorn, it came in the accessories box with dish but not sure whether it will be worth trying it, I'm keeping it in case i get a 1.2m

i now have 19e to 22west stored so far with good signal levels

i don't think it would make any difference, I'm keeping the feed in case i buy a 1.2m andrews later on

the smart titanium is getting good signals so best leave it be for a while

what will test it is if i can get 27west and 31west for the feeds, might even check for 4west

not so easy but then someone told me to use exhaust clamps so that's what i have used 76mm exhaust clamps so they are tight around the pole.

I also noticed the v bolts used on a stab motor i had was also 3inch
