changed the lnb today to a spare i had and this performs similar to the smart titanium i had on

the smart titanium lnb has gone a bit faulty was seeing slight pixellation on screen and other such things.

edision sl-5 lnb i now have on there and has a better rain cover over the f connection.

I find the Invacoms always give me a little bit more. See if you can pick one up on eBay at a reduced price. It won't make a ridiculous difference, but it should work well.

yes i thought of the invacoms but due to the price they would need to be good for me to spend and i would go for the quad

i have 2 spare lnbs in case of any more failures, a sharp 0.3db and inverto slivertech lnb

the sharp i want to try out on this dish as i have been told this is a very good lnb

but more important might be the purchase of a 1.2m dish

A lot of the British ex-pats in Spain seem to use the Sharp with good results, but of course an upgrade to the 1.2m CM dish will give you a much bigger jump in reception capability than any LNB upgrade.

I remember that Crossbones picked up a s/h C120 Invacom quad on eBay for a score earlier this year, just after I'd paid £60 for mine  ::)

fitted the quad smart on the dish today the pull down rain cover is much better as it doesn't have the holes for each port so you can put waterproof tape around unused outputs easily.

can also just see the snap n seal f connector out bottom of the lnb too lol

Looks like it was designed for the little CM  :righton:

There is definitely some F-connector snobbery going on here though  :D

lol i just prefer them to screw on ones as they are more secure but you do need to make sure you have the right length cable for the job as they wont come off to change anything

why i started to use these was on my diseqc system as the screw on ones kept coming loose on the motor but these with a slight tighten with spanner and they are solid

nordic beam 1west is good signal and also good signal on the west sats up at 22west+

not so easy but then someone told me to use exhaust clamps so that's what i have used 76mm exhaust clamps so they are tight around the pole.

I also noticed the v bolts used on a stab motor i had was also 3inch

Exhaust clamps work well dont thay, cant beat them as thay have threads on them.Stops the pole sliping, glad you took my advice wod.

yes they work well and if you saw my brackets on the wall you would think the whole lot would come down but hasn't.

when i can be bothered I'm going to look into making a mount on the flat roof as i can't be bothered with the step ladder any more to adjust things.

had to look at the limits on the motor today as something was stopping me from finding and storing 43west and beyond.

took the lid off the motor and had to turn the west limit anticlockwise as it had been set to low in the factory it seemed.

now i can get around to 58west but restricted to 19e on the east due to guttering and house position.

OK, cool.

Sounds a bit odd that the limit stop was set in such a restrictive way. That's a very good Western range now  :righton:

yes it is odd as i thought the vbox was knackered as it would e-2 error at about 40west which i thought was odd and took a look at the motor and the cog for west was touching the limit switch.

i wanted too get around that far to see what feeds crop up on them as past 30west, the elevation of the sats are low so feeds might crop up on there due to not everyone can see far due to houses etc

i take it you can get that far to 45west or more ?
